So who's got their heating on already?  Generally my oven is going full blast in the kitchen while Im baking for my lovely customers anyway, so it does mean that I get to put off the thermostat war with my husband for a little while longer!

Earlier this year I changed the name of my bespoke cake making company to Sherry Hostler Cake Artistry.  This was due to the fact that there are now several cake companies which appear to have taken on the same name as The Cake House.

Introducing The Simply Stunning Range

After a few months of planning, designing and creating, I am super excited to introduce my new Simply Stunning Range.

If you are having an intimate wedding, or just want something with elegance and simplicity of design, then this is for you. Each of our individually crafted wedding cakes offers the home baked taste and elegant styling of a bespoke cake, without the price tag.

Cranberry & Cheese Muffins

It's probably still to early to mention the 'C' word, but at the risk of loads of you unsubscribing to the newsletter, here's a little recipe that would be absolutely perfect to enjoy on Christmas evening, when the guests have gone and you can put your feet up

Ingredients

225g/8oz plain four

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

55g/2oz caster sugar

4 tbsp butter, melted

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

175ml/6floz milk

115g/4oz fresh cranberries

25g/1oz freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Method

Makes 18

1. Heat oven to 180 degrees (fan), and lightly grease a muffin pan with butter.

2. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Stir in the caster sugar.

3. In another bowl, combine the butter, beaten eggs and milk, then pour into the bowl of dry ingredients.  Mix lightly together until ingredients are evenly combined, then stir in the fresh cranberries.

4. Divide the mixture evenly between the muffin cups.  Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top.  Put in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the muffins are well risen and a golden brown colour.

5. Remove from oven and let them cool slightly in the pans.  Then place them on a wire rack to cool completely.

6. Eat!
